This winter break my family and I decided to head to Wisconsin Dells to ring in the new year having a lot of family fun. We visited recently, last summer, and had a great time. We were excited to be back =) Even though we loved our stay at the Grand Marquis Waterpark Hotel and Suites last time, we decided we wanted to try something new. This time we decided to check out the Atlantis Waterpark Hotel & Suites and in this blog I will be telling you all about the hotel and our stay.
Note: Keep in mind we did visit in the winter. In the summer months they have an outdoor pool area that I will not cover in this blog.
Why we choose this hotel:
We decided on the Atlantis Waterpark Hotel & Suites for a few reasons:
- Price – This hotel is much more affordable then the big name resorts
- Pools – The pools and indoor waterpark at this hotel were exactly what we needed for our age children (3 & 6). We looked specifically for hotel waterparks geared towards young children. We’ll save the bigger places for when the kids are bigger =)
- Arcade
- Fun Family Suites with Bunk Beds
- Free Breakfast
- Better online reviews than other comparable budget hotels.
Location & Inclusions:
- The hotel is an excellent central location in the dells area. We could easily see Noah’s Ark from our balcony. The physical address is: 1570 Wisconsin Dells Parkway, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965
- The hotel has a basic free breakfast
- Variety of room choice; We loved the Kids Suite.
- There is a Bar & Grill within the hotel, Neptune’s. See hotel site for hours and menu.
- Hotel gift shop and basic snacks and drinks available in lobby
- Within the hotel you have access to one arcade, the indoor children’s water park, two indoor pools, and a hot tub.
- There is a variety of restaurants within walking distance
Our Experience:
We had a great time during our stay at the Atlantis Waterpark Hotel & Suites. We enjoyed three fun nights at the hotel and like most vacations, we only wished we could have stayed longer.

Hotel Exterior
The hotel is in an excellent central location. We arrived about an hour before check in and they were able to get us into our room early, which was great. Upon check in I could definitely tell it was an older budget hotel, but it seemed well kept and the front desk worker was very friendly. In the lobby there was a gift shop and they have snacks and drinks available for sale. They also have an area with all the pamphlets for attractions in the area, which was very helpful for planning our days.

- Snacks and beverages available in lobby

The rooms were nicely updated, very crisp and clean. We booked a Kids Suite, and the kids loved it! The bunkbeds were a definite hit! The extra space was also great for all of us. The kids enjoyed having their own area in the room separate from us, and of course we liked it too. I also loved that almost all rooms in the hotel offer a balcony. This would be really nice in the summer, but even in the winter it was nice and we spent a little time out there. Overall, I was very happy with the room. The only negatives I would say is that beds were a bit hard and the walls thin. Luckily, people were quiet during the hours they should be, but we sleep in, so there were a few times in the mornings where hallway noise was a bit loud. Not a big problem though!
- Kid Suite – I took this at check out, that’s why the beds are not made and its a tad messy =)

Happy Kids
We were lucky to have our room located on the 4th floor. This is the floor where you can take the walkway to the indoor water park, pool and arcade. It was very convenient. At this pool there are no outside beverages allowed, because they have a bar and grill. However, the hours of the bar are limited (at least in the winter). We did bring our own water bottles and such and had no problems. The bar and grill offers basic bar food, and drinks. This pool was nice. Not too cold and the hot tub was great to warm up in. The kids waterpark area was fun, and while our kids didn’t use it much other kids seemed to love it! My kids were a little freaked out by the tube slides, which we expected 😉

Large pool, Hot tub and Neptune’s Bar

Indoor Waterpark
The arcade was also nice, although we had a couple problems while using it. One of the machines ran out of tickets, and upon asking about it they told me I would have to call the number on the machine to get someone to come out. The tickets were not worth that to us! lol. We also had one machine steal our money, so we didn’t spend a ton of time in the arcade. On a positive note, we got a print out in the arcade of the tickets we won and were able to use them at Knuckleheads (a large indoor arcade and indoor park in the area) because its the same company that runs the arcade. So that was nice as there was much better prize options at Knuckleheads!

Waterpark and Game room
The hotel also has the Volcano pool. This pool is located right off the lobby and is smaller. It offers one slide, a waterfall feature, and two basketball hoops. At this pool you are allowed to bring outside beverages in since there is no bar. Our kids loved this pool as it was less packed. It was however also colder, and there was no hot tub to warm up in. There was some wear and tear in this pool area, the bathrooms to be particular, but overall we loved it. We spent a lot of time in this pool! =)

Volcano Pool
- Fun pool!
- Basketball fun!
The other thing to note was the free breakfast, it was nothing special but we enjoyed it everyday. Think Bagels and cereal, not a hot breakfast.

Breakfast in bed =)
Overall, we had a great time at the Atlantis Waterpark Hotel and Suites. We would love to visit again in the summer to check out the outdoor pool and slides! Our kids love the Dells so I am sure we will be back soon! What is your favorite waterpark hotel in Wisconsin Dells? Let me know in the comments!
Much Love & Happy Travels,
Lacey
