My friend Emily decided that instead of a bachelorette party before her wedding she wanted to take a trip to Paris! I never say no to a vacation, so imagine my delight when she asked me to join her! I had been to Paris once before backpacking and staying in hostels so I was very excited to see Paris again, the classy way! We stayed at The Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel & Conference Center which was a lovely hotel and very convenient for us, as we did all of our traveling using the Metro. We packed a lot into our trip and had an excellent time. So, I am sharing five of my favorite experiences from our girl’s trip to Paris!
#1 – Visit the Major sightseeing attractions
Emily and I had both been to Paris before but even so we wanted to see it all again! We spent our first day walking the city, navigating the metro and visiting many of the major sites. Throughout the trip we were able to see The Notre Dame Cathedral, Montmartre, Moulin Rouge, Museum Rodin, Arc de Triumph, The Louvre and of course the Eiffel Tower. All of these are must see breathtaking sites, especially if it is your first trip to Paris!
#2 – Pont des Arts – Love Lock Bridge
Since this was technically Emily’s bachelorette party I decided to surprise her and I brought us each a lock and markers so that we could be a part of this romantic tradition! Seemed like the perfect surprise with her upcoming wedding. The Pont des Arts is a pedestrian bridge in Paris which crosses the Seine River. The tradition says that you attach a “love lock” to the railing, and toss the key into the Seine to symbolize everlasting love. We had a great time hanging out on this bridge, taking photos, reading peoples “love locks” and then adding our own!
#3 – Go shopping in the Marais area
This was really fun for us! Emily needed jewelry for her wedding so that quickly became our first priority. We loved wandering the small streets and stopping in so many adorable boutique stores. We took breaks to relax in the parks and ate wonderful falafels. We both found a few great pieces to add to our wardrobes and were happy to find that many of the stores were very affordable. We also hit the jackpot and found absolutely stunning jewelry for Emily’s upcoming wedding!
#4 – Sit shoulder to shoulder at a café and watch the world go by
This quickly became one of our favorite things to do! Whether stopping for a glass of wine or an espresso we always enjoyed watching and listening and of course giving our feet a break from all the walking! From the fashion to the people watching, this was a wonderful way to take a break, sit back, and enjoy the whole experience.
#5 – Get a baguette and a bottle of wine and watch the sunset at the Eiffel tower
No matter how many times you see the Eiffel Tower it will always take your breath away. We had a wonderful last night in Paris watching the sunset, people watching and having a little a picnic as we awaiting the sparkle of the tower, which happens every hour on the hour after sunset. It was the perfect way to end a perfect trip to Paris!
Paris may usually be thought of as a city to visit with your husband or significant other but it is also the perfect place for a girls vacation! The fashion, the shopping and the wine – really, what else does a girl need! We had a wonderful time and Emily got the Bachelorette trip she always wanted – What a way to spend your last days as a single lady!
What are your favorite things to do in Paris? What hidden gems are there to discover? Let me know! I certainly see myself visiting again someday! It’s a wonderful place!
J’Adore Paris!
Much Love & Happy Travels!

My boyfriend took me on a surprise trip to Pairs last year where he got down on one knee under the Eiffel Tower and asked me to marry him. Naturally I said yes and we got married last October. I can’t wait to go back to Paris again, it’s such a wonderful city.

January 10, 2017 at 4:46 pmI missed the love lock bridge on my last trip to Paris. I thought that they were removing all the locks. Was that not true?
January 10, 2017 at 9:33 pmI’ve heard that multiple times but I keep seeing that it’s still there! I’m not sure what’s going on with that!
January 10, 2017 at 9:41 pmI just looked it up and it was taken down. So it is no longer a thing to do, and in the first place I suppose wasn’t the best thing to do since it had to be stopped! 🙂
